Munster Flood Series - September 14, 2008

This is the very first in the Video series my Father took, I will be linking more information and making corrections along the way.

In the prior video link from NWI.com, you can see the neighbor's driveway has taken on a little bit more water since she left with her SUV.

It has rained now several days my father dropped my mother off and went back home. We all know he isn't fond of leaving the home as it is, and he wasn't ready to give up just yet and was probably hoping the rain would stop. Also, it was Sunday and da Bears was on!

We had been through many floods in our life, but this area had not flooded like this and they weren't even required to have Flood Insurance.

The Army Corp of Engineers were suppose to have been working on the Levee Project which started 28 years prior.

My brother was on forced evacuation the day before and decided to come back and look around and check on his house and he took some pictures.

These pictures were before the River came over the levee as he was driving on Calumet Avenue. You cannot see it but to the left is the Taco Bell and Target.

The street is just rain water and sewers are filled up. The River has not come over the levee yet and it's still raining quite hard.
